Saturday, June 1, 2019 at the Episcopal Conference Center

For over 70 years, ECC has transformed the lives of youth and families across Rhode Island, and the region, through its summer camp program and seasonal events.

Individuals, from all faith backgrounds, live alongside one another to create a safe, accepting, joy-filled community. Programs serve some of Rhode Island’s most vulnerable including inner city youth, children with special needs, the LGBTQ+ community, and individuals awaiting adoption. This past summer, we served 440 campers, granted 213 scholarships, and provided free programming to an additional 222 inner city youth!

Through structured programming and unstructured play at the waterfront, in the woods, and around the campfire, lives are changed and we are so grateful to the partners who make this work possible! We hope the community will “Rise Together” at our 70th Anniversary Gala to reminisce about ECC’s past, celebrate its present, and sustain its future.

We’re going all in for this fancy, celebratory party:

live band, big tent, seated dinner, silent auction, and history display

Celebrating our History

This important anniversary and event will give us the chance to look back at the history of the Sayles Homestead, how the Episcopal Conference Center came to be through an inspirational gift, and how the ministry has formed and grown since 1949. Guests at the event can look forward to an extensive history display in the barn.

Sustaining our Future

In our 70th year, ECC is in the midst of exciting initiatives to bring people closer to their true selves and God through its ministry. While we are always exploring new and creative revenue opportunities, we know one thing for sure: we cannot sustain this ministry without help from our alumni and friends.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Can we stay overnight?

Why, yes! A limited number of overnight packages will be available for folks who don’t want to make the drive home or want some extra time with the community. Overnight guests can enjoy s’more around the campfire, Compline in the barn, and brunch the following morning. Stay tuned for more details on this option.

How can I support the event?

We’re so glad you asked! Email us at to confirm your interest in any of these options!

  • Become a Table Captain. Table Captains are our welcoming committee. They help sell tickets and make all of our guests feel welcome at the event. Want to help recruit 6-8 friends to come to the event and sit with you at dinner? Let us know!

  • Become a sponsor. There are also many other sponsorship opportunities for both individuals and companies. You can sponsor this event and have your name or your company name prominently displayed throughout the evening. Other benefits are available for sponsors as well.

  • Offer an item for the silent auction. Is there a restaurant near you that you frequent that you can ask for a gift card for our auction? Are you an artist and want to donate a piece of art? Do you have a subscription to the theater and want to offer up a performance to benefit ECC? If you have something or are willing to ask businesses that you frequent for a donation for our silent auction, please let us know!

  • Collaborate with us on a strategy for engaging your local church! There are clergy and church-specific ways to engage with this event ranging from event attendance to sponsorships and advertising opportunities!

  • Help the history team! Do you have old photos, videos, and documents from your time at ECC? We’d be so grateful if you would share them to be part of our event and to add to our growing archives to be available for future generations.

  • Commit to a gift to sustain the future now! We hope you will come out and spend the evening with us on June 1st, but whether you attend the event or not we hope you will consider a regular sustaining gift to ECC. Read more about sustaining gifts here. Your consistent support will ensure we have the necessary foundation to sustain this compassionate, vibrant, and life-changing community for the months and years ahead.
